To provide a safe playing environment for our guests, unfortunately we cannot care for anti social/aggressive dogs and breeds.
Some of the more common breeds and part there of which we cannot accept into our care are as follows:
British Bull Terriers
English Staffordshire Bull Terriers
American Staffordshire Terriers
Pitbulls
Akitas
Mastiffs
Malamutes
You might ask why most kennels do not run dogs together, it is one way of knowing there will not be an altercation, however I like to see dogs running and enjoying themselves and I have chosen to have large exercise areas for this reason.
It is also my responsibility to ensure as safe an environment as possible, unfortunately not all people tell the truth. Also some breeds get over excited when running the fence line and do not want another dog in their way which, if not properly controlled could be a recipe for disaster. After a few incidents I had to make a decision; no breeds that were bred for fighting or dogs that are too large and I feel I could not control if things got out of hand.
I believe when buying an animal you should look into the breed and know what you are getting, this also means part breeds. We humans have spent hundreds of years trying to make our lives easier by having dogs which perform certain duties, for many years I have owned working dogs, so am aware they are bright dogs which needs plenty of stimulation and heaps of exercise, they instinctively herd and can nip. I understand there are people who do not like, want or feel comfortable with these breeds, that is ok with me. I have to make sure my dogs do not make other people feel uneasy.
I do not dislike any breeds, if am near any dog will happily pat it, cuddle it or whatever. I was brought up with English Bull Terriers and loved our Columbus very much.
When responding to some of the bad reviews I have received regarding staffies or dogs on my list, I have requested you to ring some kennels that breed these breeds I will not take, ask if you could run your dogs with theirs, nobody have ever got back to me with a response, why is that?
